Julia Roberts is one of Hollywood’s most well-recognized actresses. Unlike many A-List actresses who often marry fellow actors, Roberts challenged the norm by marrying cinematographer Danny Moder. They have been married for 22 years.
Roberts and Moder celebrated their wedding anniversary on July 4th. On Thursday, Roberts marked the occasion on Instagram with a post captioned, “TWENTY TWO YEARS,” accompanied by heart, celebratory, and American flag emojis.
The couple married on Independence Day in 2002 at Roberts’ ranch in Taos, New Mexico.
They have three children: 19-year-old twins, Phinnaeus and Hazel, and 17-year-old Henry.
Late last year, Roberts shared on CBS Mornings with Gayle King that she is still “embarrassingly” smitten with her husband. She described Moder as her favorite human, praising his intelligence, kindness, and dynamic view of the world.
The couple met on the set of the 2001 film “The Mexican” and worked together again in 2015 on “Secret in Their Eyes.” Reflecting on working with her husband, Roberts said there were times they would look at each other and think, “OK, if you’re here for me, I’m here for you.”
In 2022, Roberts shared that while her acting career was a dream come true, her home life was even more fulfilling. She emphasized that being an actor never consumed her, and she still considers being a “homemaker” her main role in life.
“The life that I have built with my husband and our children is the best stuff,” Roberts shared. “To come home at the end of the day, triumphantly to them.”
