He talked about faith and Jesus Christ with The Babylon Bee, a satire website. Elon Musk is the co-founder and CEO of Tesla.
The Bee’s CEO Seth Dillon, Editor-in-Chief Kyle Mann, and Creative Director Ethan Nicolle led the conversation, which touched on a range of issues, such as politics and money. But the talk turned serious when it came to faith and salvation.
The chat took a different turn when Musk joked that it was a Sunday and that they were all going to hell for not being at church.
Then Nicolle asked Musk if he would accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior. She told him it would only take a moment of prayer.
Musk thought for a moment before answering, saying that he agreed with what Jesus taught. He talked about how important it is to follow morals like “turn the other cheek,” forgive, and love your neighbor. Musk added in a funny way, “But hey, if Jesus is saving people, I mean, I won’t get in the way of Him.” Yes, I’ll be saved. “Why not?”
The hosts of Babylon Bee were happy about his answer, with Nicolle saying, “I think he just said yes.” Musk also said he was baptized as a child and said he still has questions about faith and the Bible.
Musk said he had prayed for the journey, even though he is not very religious, in a moving speech in 2020 after the Dragon Capsule successfully splashed down. He talked about how important the goal was for everyone and how he hoped it would bring people joy during hard times.
It was a rare chance to see what Musk thinks about faith and philosophy in this deep conversation with The Babylon Bee.
